Kirk Sorensen February 26, 2017 Over the last few months I’ve had several interviews with Dave Mosher, and he has produced an impressive piece of history and technological reviews about the LFTR that I think is well worth reading: Business Insider: A forgotten war technology could safely power Earth for millions of years. Flibe Energy was founded in 2011 by Kirk Sorensen after he had spent over a decade studying and independently exploring the technical basis and design of molten-salt reactors.

Kirk Sorensen is founder of Flibe Energy and is an advocate for nuclear energy based on thorium and liquid-fluoride fuels. For five years he has authored the blog “Energy from Thorium” and helped grow an online community of thousands who support a renewed effort to develop thorium as an energy source.

He began his career working as an aerospace engineer at NASA. Eventually he left NASA to begin working as the chief nuclear technologist at Teledyne Brown Engineering.
